Grub Market

FAQ

WHY SHOP GRUBMARKET?

At GrubMarket, we bring the local farmers market to your door! We understand the value of having a real connection with your food and knowing where it comes from. It's our mission to provide the best quality, most sustainably-made products while supporting the members of our community who produce them.

TOP 5 Reasons To Choose GrubMarket:

  1. Support local farmers. When you shop with us, you’re supporting the local food economy. Small farmers love to work with us because it gives them the ability to plan ahead a little bit, rather than rely on fulfilling an unknown demand at the market every week. And it allows their goods to reach more people!

  2. Help the planet! A tenet of our business is to operate in a way that minimizes our carbon footprint. Through our commitment to sustainability, our delivery service removes thousands of cars from the road, as well as plastic bags from our landfills and oceans.

  3. Reduce Food-Waste! We’re proud to be a Food-Waste Free company. Our farmers harvest their crops after you order, minimizing waste as much as possible, on their end and ours. We also donate 100% of “leftover” produce to our partners at Food Finders, ensuring everything is either consumed or composted. Nothing goes to waste!

  4. Save time by going online to order produce, meats, fresh-baked bread, and artisanal goods from farmers and artisans that you’d see at farmer's markets in the LA area - and have them delivered straight to your door!

  5. Contact us anytime! We’re here for you, really! Our customer service team is made up of real humans answering the phones and responding to your emails. You can expect a response within 24 hours. We love hearing from you, don't hesitate to reach out! Email us at socal@grubmarket.com or call us at (888) 888-8590.

When it comes down to it, we just want to bring some local goodness into your life and make sustainable grocery shopping more convenient for you and your family. The real question is: why not shop at GrubMarket?!

HOW TO SHOP

Easy as pie! Just click Register at the top of our homepage to create your free account. No commitments or membership fees. Simply order what you want, and we'll deliver it to you!
Instead of having a traditional checkout function, our shopping cart has a timed cut-off. You can enjoy the convenience and flexibility of changing your order as much as you’d like up until the cut-off time. You don’t need to click anything to submit your order. Anything left in your shopping cart at the ordering cut-off time is your final order.
Delivery Day Cut-off Time
Sunday 10 PM Thursday
Monday  10 PM Thursday

Please note:
* Holiday delivery schedules may be subject to change. Notifications will be sent via email.
* Some of our artisanal products take longer to prepare and may have a different cut-off time. Products with special cut-offs will have this information listed in the product description. Be sure to look out for that info in the product listing! You can check the cut-off time of your upcoming orders
here.
If you order any item on our store page and set it to come at your desired frequency, our system will automatically recreate your order at the frequency you designate. You can even specify different items at different frequencies. For example, you can set up your produce to come every week, eggs every other week, and that yummy chocolate bar as a special monthly treat. What you order, and the frequency, is entirely up to you.
After logging in to your account, you will automatically be directed to the Upcoming Deliveries page. Here, you'll see future available and scheduled delivery days. If you leave this page to shop, you can access it again by hovering your mouse over My Account at the top right corner of the screen, then click on Upcoming Deliveries from the drop-down menu.
Customizing your FarmBox is super simple! Once ordered, you can swap items in and out of your FarmBox from a curated list of available produce (appears directly in your FarmBox). Just click the "Customize Bag" button and from there you can add and subtract items in your FarmBox.

Canceling an order is simple! Simply log into your account and check your upcoming deliveries for the order you’d like to cancel. You can either click the Skip Delivery button on the right-hand side of your order, or you can click on the order itself and delete the individual items.

Canceling an order that is recurring is the same process as canceling an individual order. Please see above for the steps to take. If you’d like to cancel your recurring order in its entirety or remove items from your recurring order permanently (they can always be added back!), head over to the Recurring Items page to curate your recurring order to meet your current needs.
As long as you delete your order or place a delivery hold before the ordering cut-off, your order will be canceled in time and you won’t be charged. If you weren’t able to cancel your order before the cut-off time please call or email us. In an effort to minimize food waste, we encourage you to cancel before the cut-off whenever possible, but we do understand that unforeseen events happen to everyone. We offer one complimentary cancellation past your ordering cut-off time. We are always happy to gift your order to a friend or family member or donate it to one of the local charities we support, like Food Finders.

Please call or email us and we will either credit your account or re-deliver the item to you as soon as we’re able to. We will always let you know what your options are and we strive to ensure 100% customer satisfaction regarding our products and every aspect of our service!

PRODUCE AND PRODUCTS

Here at GrubMarket, we have close relationships with all of our farmers, many of whom have been selling to us for over 13 years! We also have strict requirements that they use sustainable growing methods. This means that in order to sell to us, they must never spray their crop with chemicals like pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, as well as avoid using GMO seeds. In order to be labeled as ‘organic’, the farms must be certified organic. And if the produce is certified organic, you will find an organic logo on the product image to denote this. Some of our produce is not certified organic, which we label as ‘sustainable’. The sustainable logo is also found on product images, so you always have access to this information as you shop.

The reason we don’t only carry certified organic produce is to support smaller local operations that may not be able to afford it. Organic certification can be an expensive and lengthy process and many farmers choose not to get certified for an assortment of reasons. If we lived in a just world, farmers wouldn’t have to choose between paying for organic certification each year or saving for their children's college fund. Knowing how tough this can be for smaller farmers, we’re proud to work with these producers and extend their delicious, sustainably-grown goods to you!
Delicate produce, like leafy greens, berries, and tomatoes, are 1-3 days from the farm. Produce with a longer shelf life, like potatoes, garlic, and winter squash is properly stored in our facility for 1-2 weeks.
We created FarmBoxes to provide our customers with a rotating selection of seasonal produce and artisanal products. We source the contents of our FarmBoxes from numerous local farmers and artisans, so you'll see a great variety in the items you receive each week. What is truly special about these FarmBoxes is how they help our farmers. When a farmer yields an unexpected surplus of an item, our first priority is to include it in our boxes. The flexibility of buying what's available from our farmers and letting Mother Nature take the reins is highly effective in reducing food waste within the local food system. We’re glad to extend this flexibility to our customers as well: each FarmBox is customizable so you never have to receive a vegetable you don’t like!
Email us your suggestion to socal@grubmarket.com! We’d love to hear about any products you recommend.

DELIVERY

We currently deliver to most of the LA area and surrounding neighborhoods. Check out our delivery area map to find out if we deliver to your area. We're constantly growing and expanding, so if you are near the border of our delivery zone, please reach out to us to see if we can deliver to you. The more demand, the more we expand.
We deliver between 7 am and 5 pm, Sunday-Wednesday (delivery day varies depending on your area). Please check our delivery area map to find out which days we're in your neighborhood. If you opt into our “Delivery Confirmation/Updates” notifications, you will receive a text message when your driver is en route from the previous stop (between 5 and 30 minutes away). You’ll receive an additional text message when your order has been delivered. If the driver’s previous stop is in very close proximity to your home or office, you may only receive the message that your order has been delivered. If you're not receiving these text notifications and you have opted in, please email us.
We recommend that you be home so you can immediately put your groceries away, but it is not required. If you’re not home, we will leave your order on your doorstep or in any specified location upon your request. If you live in a gated building or community that requires you to be home for delivery, please call or email us so we can ensure that we will be able to deliver when you are home.
During the heat of summer, your delivery can stay outside for up to 3 hours in the shade. If our driver can’t find a shady spot to leave your order, they will contact you via text message to let you know to collect your order ASAP.

We deliver to a variety of different residences and businesses all over Southern California and we are happy to work with everyone's needs. Please share with us any instructions that you feel would be helpful to make a successful delivery, such as a gate code, a back entrance, to leave with a neighbor, or if you have limited mobility and need assistance bringing in and putting away your order. If you need more assistance with delivery instructions, please contact us.

To skip deliveries, go to the Delivery Hold page via My Account. Here you can enter the date range in which you want to skip deliveries then click "Add Vacation”. Afterward, you will see the dates appear below. Please note that the last day of your vacation hold is still considered a part of the pause, so you will not get a delivery that day. If you would like your deliveries to resume on the day you return from your vacation, schedule the return date for the day before. This feature is only necessary if you have a recurring order.
We pick up all reusable materials (insulated pouches and ice packs) when we arrive with your next delivery. Be sure to leave them out the night before if possible as we deliver to some areas as early as 7:00 am.
We do not offer the option to pick up your order at this time. If you are interested in order pick up, please email us so we can gather information on how to better offer this service in the near future.
